My new venture

I'm always looking for new opportunities to make some extra spending money. For years I've been selling craft supplies, layouts, books and other items on Ebay.

Then for the last year I've also been selling cards, tags, journaling boxes, albums and craft supplies on Etsy.

Plus I sell craft supplies and cards to co-workers and friends as well as at the biannual Crop n Shops at Manhattan Scrapbookers

My newest venture though is as a Memory Works consultant. I love the variety of supplies plus I don't personally know a single consultant so it seemed like a great company to get involved with. To check out the catalog and/or place an order go to

24 Sketch Challenge Gone Bad

Last weekend Scrappin n Chattin on yahoo there was a 24 hour sketch challenge. Thanks to computer issues I never got to enter my entry but I did manage to complete it at least.

This is made with the Little Yellow Bicycle Generation Z that I won in the Scrappin n Chattin jackpot a couple months ago.

The sketch is here

Good news is I also found out this layout also qualifies for The Paper Variety weekly challenge. Wish me luck!

I just love this card

A friend recently hired me to making him a card and he had only two requests.... her name be included and it say "Happy Birthday". I spent an hour or so playing with different sketches and here's the final result.

The cardstock is DCWV, the balloons are cut from Bazzill, the stamp is studio G, the ink is black Stazon, the letters are Making Memories, and the patterned paper is DCWV Photo Real. The balloons were cut with the George Cricut cartridge.

Surprisingly it's a perfect match for this week's PartyTime Tuesday and PinkStamper challenges.

Congratulations to Christina and Jaime

Congratulations on your new arrival. He's beautiful.

Scraps of Color

I came across this publication to be this morning and I just love the idea. I often feel so out of place entering scrapping challenges and contests because I'm the only one with a page where everyone's some shade of brown. I love this concept and maybe out of it we'll have more African themed papers and embellishments.

And More Cards

I love the DCWV High School pack. That glittery embossed sheet of lettered paper is just so fun that I had to turn the remnants into a card.

And this is a fall card made from some scraps of my fall layout. Playing up layered die-cuts with stickles is so much fun.

Layouts

Here's some layouts Ive done in the last couple weeks.

Travel Greeting Cards

Last weekend I finally got some scrapping time. These cards were made from scraps on another layout I was working on. I think this is such a great way to use up scraps of paper. This way I already have on my desk all the coordinating paper and embellishments. All I need to do is grab some cardstock and I'm all set.

9/11 Blog Hop

I saw this Blog Hop and it was so incredible that I had to post.

The description reads:
"We have an awesome lineup for you today with lots of fun projects, all regarding the Heroes in our lives– We take today to remember the victims, to grieve with the families and friends of those who died, and to honor the heroes of that day and each day since, who have sacrificed to save lives and serve their country."

I'm still alive

In the last month I've been on a long weekend getaway to the island, one to Maryland & Virginia and I'm about to head upstate to Port Jervis. Combine all this with very intermittent internet service and that means I've barely been online. The good news is though I have lots of new photos to scrap and share so I should have an interesting fall ahead.

The Last

The challenge was to use questionairres to create an "about me" layout
I chose a few questions and entitled it "THE LAST". The paper is DCWV All Dressed U and the letters are K & CO. The embellishments are a circular paper clip and a stamped image that I received in a swap. I don't know who the stamp designer is just that it was a perfect match for the paper. It also fits the Lasting Memories Challenge #3

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

Have you ever sort of completed a project but knew there was one thing missing or something just wasn't right?
That was me with these two layouts

The first layout is of a family BBQ on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend 2009. I had some great BBQ embellishments from different swaps which went great. I had to shift my photos around a bit (I love repositionable adhesive) to make space for the journaling pocket but this was one day where I had to include journaling. Since it was something so personal I wanted to make it private thus the tag and pocket. The fiber on the tag also met the July "fuzzy" challenge over at Scrappin n Chattin.

The second layout is of a picnic on Memorial Day with my kids ministry volunteer team. The circular close-ups looked great and I loved the handmade embellishments that added an extra special touch from various swaps. The paper and embellishments flowed together to create a terrific story of a fun day. The mini folder allowed me to keep my journaling hidden while still adding to the overall layout theme. I entered this layout for the poses challenge over at Scrappin n Chattin.
